FINGER POWER! was an installation of music, light, video and sculpture that was part of Bumbershoot 2014 in Seattle WA. The piece ran from August 29th to September 1st, 2014. It is a collaboration between Andy Arkley, Peter Lynch, and Courtney Barnebey. Photos by David Wentworth and Stephen Vest.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
FINGER POWER! has six color stations: red, green, blue, yellow, violet, and orange.
Each station has two buttons that control sculptures and videos of the corresponding color.
When you hold down a button you trigger a musical loop and animate the lights on the sculptures.
There are 12 different musical loops of varying lengths. Depending on the combination of buttons pressed, a different song is created each time. The color stations also control videos of the corresponding color that appear on the pyramid and the circular side screens.
